The characters i am most like
The characters I am most like would probably be the greasers from the book The Outsiders the reason I believe I am like them is because of they know how to work hard. They also know the valve of a dollar bill. The Socs are rich because they have daddy's money, they drive nice cars. And the greasers live in the hood and I live in a neighborhood, its pretty close to the same thing.
the setting
The setting affect what is happening in the story because it is talking about the rumble in the vacant lot. The vacant lot really help me picture the setting in my head because its where everything happens. The rumble was between the greasers and the Socs. The Socs are nothing but rich white kids that have to much money. The greasers are the kids that know what hard work is. The reason the rumble started was because the socs would always could over to the greasers side and jump them so they decided if the greasers won then the socs would have to stay on their side of town.
character i dislike
In the book The Outsiders the people I really dislike is the Socs. The reason I not like the Socs is because they think they are all that because they have daddy's money. But the if they were smart they would want to be more like the greasers. Yeah I get it the greasers don't have the fancy cars or the big houses, but they will be more successful in live because they know the valve of a dollar. The Socs are just rich kids that will be a no body.

symbolizes the main theme
The one object that symbolizes the main theme of the book, The Outsiders, is a comb. A comb symbolizes the whole story because the greaser always cared about their hair. Their hair was a to shows that their are a greaser. Greasers put grease in their hair to make it sine in the sunlight and they always have it combed. They always have there comb in the back pocket of their faded blue jeans. Greasers always has had their long hair combed to one side or the other. Having greasy hair was their way of showing they were a greaser. I always thought they were called greasers because they lived in the hood and never cleaned up. A comb is the one object that I would use to symbolized as the main theme of the book.
News article

quote a passage and respond
"From the snap of the ball to the snap of the first bone is closer to four seconds than to five." This is one of my favorite quote from the book because its true, well not really until the first broken bone. I know a lot about this because I played football and that is very true. The quote is one of my favorite one about football that I really like.
solve the problem in the book
In the Blind Side, by Michael Lewis, Michael Oher is being harassed by the press because he lost his cool with a kid from his football team. The reason Michael Oher wants to hurt the kid is because the kid said something about his "mom and sister." The kid said things that had to do with sex and Michael didn't like that so he wanted to hurt the kid. Michael's best instinct is to protect so that's what he thought he was doing but it turned out that When Michael tackle his teammate in the tutor center there was a little boy that got smashed under them. this is the problem that I would solve, first thing first it was a freak accident and secondly the little boy shouldn't even have been there in the first place. The problem is Ole Miss wants to kick Michael off the team for what he did. But what I think it was the teammates fault because he was saying things about Leigh Ann and Collins that Michael didn't like. The other reason I don't think it's Michaels fault is because it's not like he was try to hurt the little boy, that just happened to be in the wrong place at the wrong time, but Michael doesn't know his strength and Michael was doing what he knows best and that is to protect his "Family."

Todays reading
The main thing I could take away from todays reading would be to not let someone get to you. In todays reading of the Blind Side Antonio Turner, a teammate of Michaels, was joking around about Michael's "cracker family" and was telling Michael about what he would do to Leigh Ann and Collins. The things Antonio was talking about were stuff having to do with sexual actives which in the book Michael refused to talk about it. So the took off after him but then decided he was to going to go change his shirt because Michael didn't was blood on his shirt. So I learned to not let people get into your head because sometimes it could turn out really bad.
small detail that would change the story
If Old Yeller stayed alive in the story wouldn't have a sad ending. IF the dog stayed alive and didn't get sick at the end of the book I would a liked it just a little better; not saying I didn't like the book but I hate it when a book ends in a sad way. If Old Yeller didn't die it would of changed to whole outcome of the classic novel of Old Yeller.
Three big questions at this time
My first question would be why Sean and Leigh Ann Tuohy won't go out and find Michael. Michael is called a runner by the state because when he does something bad he runs from the problem. My second question is why Ole Miss offensive line coach put Michael as right guard when he is suppose to be left tackle. Left tackle is where Michael know how to play. and my third and final question is if Michael Oher is so good and football why did they have him sit out his freshmen year.

main character to be my friend
If I could choose if Michael Oher for The Blind Side could be my friend I would probably say yes because so far in the book he has no friends. And in the movie he seems like he a really cool cat. Michael Oher is also really good at football and I use to like play football as well but playing for high isn't fun, but if me and Michael Oher were friends I think I would still be playing.

improve your life
If I could take one life lesson from my book I read today it would probably to never take life for granite. In my book The Blind Side Sean and Leigh Ann Tuohy, take in Michael Oher into their house and buy him clothes. Michael had nothing, he didn't even have a family.

feeling after todays reading
After reading Old Yeller today, the author Fred Gipson really describes the plot of the story. The way he describes it makes me feel like I am actually standing with the characters. Then Little Arliss gets himself into a little trouble with a bear and her cub. After this event Travis starts to like the old yeller dog. Because at first Travis wanted to shot it because it stole a whole slab of meat and eat the entire thing. And Travis has to be the man of the house because his dad is on a cattle drive.
stranded on a desert island
If I was stranded on a desert island I would want Travis from the book Old Yeller, by Fred Gipson. I would want Travis with me because he is used to living like he is stranded. Travis has to kill and skin his kills, and with him knowing those types of skills would help us survive on a desert island.

qualities a character shares with a person i know
My book Where the Red Fern Grows the main character has some qualities that share with a person I know. My characters name is Billy the person that I think he is most like that I know would probably have to be Austin Waller. Some of the qualities they share are that they both love to go coon hunting and know a lot about it. I think they really act a like and they both love to go coon hunting.

pressing problem
The most pressing problem the main character has at this point in the story is just to survive. My book is Prisoner B-3087, the main characters name is Yanek Gruener, his most pressing problem in the story is to survive. Yanek also knew that he had to work hard but not to much that the Nazis would notice him but not so little that they would shoot him for not working hard enough. Yanek was so close to becoming a Muselmann, which is a person that doesn't have enough strength to get up, from not have enough to eat. Yanek is nothing but skin and bones. That's Yanek's most pressing problem at this point in the story.

like and dislike about my book
The book I am reading now is Prisoner B-3087. Its about a boy named Yanek Gruener, who talks about all the concentration camps that he went to and all the bad things the Nazis have done. The one thing I like about the book is that it describes the settings really good. It makes it feel like I am there. The only thing I really don't like about the book is it tells you how Jews are killed on the streets, beaten, and even eaten by dogs. But other than that I really enjoy this book.

How does the setting affect what is happening in this book?
The setting in King of the Wind, affects what is happening in my book because it really helps me out with picturing the setting. The setting in the book is way back in the day when they used horses to travel. The author really decides the setting and how she decides it helps with the plot of the story. The setting really affects what is happening in the story because when Agba and Sham travel it talks about what they have to go through to get to the next place.

Describe a major conflict right now
In my book King of the Wind the main character, Agba, gets his horse Sham, sold on to a carter. The carter uses Sham for pulling a cart of lumber. Agba spends a several months looking for Sham. When Agba finds Sham he is in really bad shape. Agba spends every night with the horse. Then one morning after a snow/rain storm the carter loaded to wagon to full and Sham couldn't pull the wagon up the little hit to the street. Sham's feet were sipping on the ice but the carter didn't care he just kept whipping Sham. The whip was leaving cuts in Sham's hind. Then Sham was so worn out that he just fell to his knees and the carter pulled on his rains to get Sham up put he wouldn't. Then an English man from London bought him.

Suggest my story to a friend
If i had to suggest this book, King of the Wind, to a friend; I would say it's mostly about horse racing. At the beginning the book was about the fastest horse around, from Canada, named Sir Barton. Sir Barton was predicted to win the race. But Man O' War, from America, won the race and no one seen that coming. I haven't really got into the good part of the book but that's how far I got.
